Antenatal consults provide the guidance and confidence you need to make informed choices about feeding your baby. By meeting with an IBCLC during pregnancy (ideally between 34–36 weeks) we can build rapport, prepare for your goals, and help you feel supported before your baby arrives.
This session is especially valuable if you’ve experienced breastfeeding challenges before, have medical conditions, or have had previous breast surgery.
During your Antenatal Consult, we’ll cover:
• Your breastfeeding goals
• Medical and pregnancy history
• Previous breastfeeding experiences
• Strategies to support your feeding journey
• Antenatal colostrum expression
• Correct pump flange sizing
• Common questions and attachment techniques
• How to prevent common challengesBooking an Antenatal Consult also means you’ll be on Sarah’s client list once your baby arrives, giving you priority support via text, email, or video while you’re still in hospital — before coming in for your postnatal feeding consult.

Online consultations make it easy to access support from a qualified Lactation Consultant, no matter where you are in Australia. While a virtual consult isn’t quite the same as an in-person visit, it can provide prompt guidance and reassurance to help you continue your breastfeeding journey with confidence.
Before your appointment, you’ll be asked to submit photos, short videos, and a brief history form to help us get the most out of your session.
You’ll receive all the forms and instructions in your booking confirmation email.
During your phone or Zoom consultation, we’ll review your information together, discuss what we see in the photos or videos, observe a feed if timing aligns, and create a personalised care plan, which will be emailed to you after your consult.

This consult is designed to support parents who are expressing milk exclusively, or experiencing bottle feeding difficulties with their baby.
During the session, we’ll assess your expressing technique, check flange fit and make adjustments as needed. We’ll review your current pump and setup, discuss your goals, and try different flange sizes to find what works best for you (because the right fit can make all the difference!)
We can also explore bottle types and troubleshoot any pain, low milk output, or nipple trauma.
If your baby is refusing bottles, taking a long time to finish a feed, leaking milk, gagging, or struggling with flow, we’ll work through practical strategies to make feeding more comfortable and effective.
Whether you’re preparing to return to work, building a freezer stash, or combination feeding, this session is designed to help you feed your baby with ease and confidence.

Finding the right flange size can make all the difference to your pumping comfort and milk flow. If your flange is too big or too small, it can cause pain, nipple trauma, or low milk output.
I offer a quick, free 10 minute flange fitting to measure your nipples and check that your current size is working well for you. If an adjustment is needed, inserts are available for $20 per pair to help your pump fit perfectly. They simply slot into your existing flange for a comfortable and effective fit.
A few small adjustments can make a big difference. This quick, free fitting helps you pump more comfortably and confidently.
