Antenatal consults give you the support you need to make an informed choice when it comes to feeding your baby.
By connecting with an IBCLC while you are pregnant, we get to develop a rapport before your baby arrives and help you prepare specific to your goals.
During an Antenatal Consult we discuss:
• Your breastfeeding goals • Your medical and pregnancy history • Your previous breastfeeding history (if applicable) • Strategies that can support you on your feeding journey • Antenatal expression of colostrum • Correct pump flange sizing • Frequently asked questions • Correct attachment. • How to prevent common challenges • Bonding with your baby • And much more
When you book an Antenatal Consult, you ensure that you will be on Sarah’s client list for once your baby is born. This means that you can text/email/ send videos while you are still in the hospital before coming in for an infant feeding consult.

This includes a 60-90 min consultation. During this time a comprehensive history, infant oral exam and an observation of feed will be undertaken. From this assessment a lactation plan will be implemented. Follow up phone/email communication is included in this fee.

Online consultations are useful to access assistance from a qualified Lactation Consultant, if you are limited to access. An online consultation is not the same as a face to face consultation, Although it can assist in providing immediate assistance and help you continue with your breastfeeding journey.
An Online Consult requires that you submit videos, pictures and a history form prior to your appointment.
Forms and Instructions on how to do this are sent to you in your booking confirmation email.
During the phone/zoom consultation we will discuss findings of photos/videos, observe a feed if required and create a plan which will be emailed to you after the consult.
